Forming the body

Start with an A5 sheet of thin card.
draw a 4cm square in one top corner then curve the other top corner round the back to fit in the square.



You will have made a lopsided cone.

Shoulder flaps

Cut and fold tabs to fit the 'shoulder' straw.
Not too near the back!

Arms
Fit a small piece of sticky tape to the end of the string then thread the string through the 5 pieces of artstraw. Put another piece of tape on the other end.
Do not pull tight!

Head and neck
The head and the neck are made from the same size pieces of card. Bend the head card round until it just overlaps. For the neck wrap the card around a pen or pencil

Joining together

The shoulder piece [shown red] fits in the slots and is glued to the tabs

About a third of the neck fits into the head and another third fits into the body

Controls

Make each hand double and glue it around the sticky tape that is at the end of the string.

Attach control rod across palm with sticky tape.
Attach straw 'handle to back of body.
