The purpose of Northumberland Creative & Performing Arts is to enhance the quality of life in Northumberland by increasing the quantity, range and quality of creative and performing arts available to all young people.
The organisation was established as a Music Service over 60 years ago, providing instrumental tuition, youth orchestras, education concerts / workshops and ensemble opportunities for the children of Northumberland.

An interactive resource for Reception and KS1
The resource consists of an interactive story and four songs, with accompanying book to print out , a gallery of images from the story and two Smart Notebook activities on rhythm and composition.

A series of three Smart Notebook files which provide an introduction to using musical notation with children in KS1 & 2.
Unit 1: provides an introduction to musical notation
Unit 2: concerned primarily with rhythm, but also focuses on time signatures, timbre and dynamics.
Unit 3: focuses on using rhythmic 'ostinatos' and is most suited for KS2 children. There is also an attached Finale Notation file.
