Bassoon

The bassoon is the lowest instrument of the woodwind family. Bassoon players read the bass clef, rather than the treble clef. The bassoon uses a double reed, larger than the oboe's and is suitable for larger hands and older pupils.
It is often the instrument that clarinet players move on to. The bassoon is at concert pitch in bass clef.
