All About Animals is a pictorial database designed for use with pupils in KS1

The database can be used to support the teaching of ICT, particularly Unit 2C of the QCA Scheme of Work: Finding Information. It is also a useful non-fiction resource for use in Literacy.

There are records for 65 animals, grouped according to habitat and listed in alphabetical order in the index.

It can be explored in three ways: using menus to search for information, using the index and using key words.

For each animal in the database there is a simple description with a large image. Clicking on the 'Find Out More' button gives access to more detailed information, while the Back button allows the user to retrace their steps.


Additional resources

All of the images and fact files about the animals in the database are also available as Word files which can be printed out and adapted as necessary. Use the menu at the top of the page to browse printable resources by habitat.

Smart Notebook Gallery Collection

There are two Smart Notebook collections:

If you have Smart Notebook installed on your computer, when you click on the link to one of the collection files and choose 'Open', Smart Notebook will open, and an All About Animals or Animals and Habitats folder will be created in the 'My Content' folder in your Gallery.

This folder will contain 65 images which can be used to create your own resources. It will appear each time you open Smart Notebook unless you choose to delete it.
