There are records for 65 animals, grouped according to habitat and listed in alphabetical order in the index. The database can be explored in three ways: using menus to search for information, using the index and using key words in a search.
For each animal in the database there is a simple description with a large image. Click on the text to hear it read in French by a native speaker.
Clicking on the 'En savoir plus' button gives access to more detailed information.
The search facility will pick up any animal in the database, provided it is spelt correctly, including accents!
All of the images and fact files about the animals in the database are also available as PDFs and Word files which can be printed out and adapted as necessary. Use the menu at the top of the page to browse printable resources by habitat.
The detailed information pages for each animal do not have sound support in this online version, but a full audio version of the database is available to purchase on CD, along with a 50 page Teacher Manual of lesson plans and supporting resources.

There are two Smart Notebook collections:
If you have Smart Notebook installed on your computer, when you click on the link to one of the collection files and choose 'Open', Smart Notebook will open, and an All About Animals or Animals and Habitats folder will be created in the 'My Content' folder in your Gallery.
This folder will contain 65 images which can be used to create your own resources. It will appear each time you open Smart Notebook unless you choose to delete it.
